CYO Sports: Fun and Faith Together!

"The Catholic Youth Organization, through the vehicle of sports, provides youth with an opportunity to practice Christian attitudes and responsibilities and to become friends with other children throughout the diocese. CYO activities should be examples of the meaning of Christian sportsmanship." --CYO Code of Conduct

 
The Oakland Diocese Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is a church-sponsored athletic program for elementary and junior high age youth from the parishes of the Catholic Diocese of Oakland. CYO Sports are offered by the Church as a ministry to young people.

St. Edward CYO offers the following sports:

Cross Country: K-8th grade, August-November 
Practices are Mon-Thursday after school. Sometimes at St. Edward and Quarry Lakes, Fremont (day/location to be determined by coach). Meets are at various locations in the Oakland Diocese.
 
Boys Basketball: 2nd-8th grade, September- January
Practices are 2 times a week at Newark Junior High. Games are at various schools in the area. 
 
Girls Volleyball: 3rd-8th grade, September- January
Practices are 2 times a week at Newark Junior High. Games are at various schools in the area. 
 
Girls Basketball: 3rd-8th grade, January-April
Practices are 2 times a week at Newark Junior High. Games are at various schools in the area. 
 
Track & Field: K-8th grade, February-May
Practices are 2 times a week in the evenings at Newark Memorial High School. Meets are Sundays at Moreau Catholic High School.
 
Boys Sand Volleyball: 5th-8th grade, February-May
Practices and games TBD.
