Now that my children are young adults, I can look back and honestly say that choosing St. Edward Catholic School for them (from 2005 to 2014) was one of the best decisions I made as a single parent.
Those years were not always easy. Balancing work, parenting, and finances on my own came with real challenges, but the Catholic school community became an incredible source of support, not just for my kids, but for me too. The teachers knew my children by name, saw their potential, and helped shape them into the responsible, grounded, and compassionate people they are today.
What mattered most to me was that they were being educated in an environment that reinforced the values I was trying to instill at home: faith, respect, service, and integrity. They didn’t just learn subjects; they learned how to be good people. They prayed with their classmates, talked about what it means to live with purpose, and were surrounded by role models who genuinely cared.
Now, as I watch them navigate adulthood with confidence and a strong moral compass, I see the lasting impact of those years. Catholic school gave them more than an education, it gave them a foundation for life.
I’m forever grateful I made the choice to send them to St. Edward.
