Welcome to Grade 6

“Wonder is the desire of knowledge.”
St. Thomas Aquinas

I am honored to be your 6th grade teacher at this wonderful learning community, St. Edward School. I look forward to our advancing together, parents and students, towards our collective academic goals.  The purpose of middle school is to prepare you for the rigors of high school. I seriously consider the four years of high school, ages 14-18, to be the most important years of your life. You will change mentally, physically, emotionally and socially. You need to be prepared for that and much more. That's where God steps in and Faith guides you.

You will learn that belief in God is not enough to find your way through the    climate of high school. You must develop a belief in yourself and your ability to overcome obstacles inspired by the Dominican Charisms; Prayer, Community, Study, and Preaching. With that confidence you can overcome anything.

We will explore content areas of Religion, Language Arts, Mathematics, History, and Art with the objective of preparing our young students to develop the necessary abilities such as understanding another viewpoint, clarifying points, thinking creatively, looking in the long run and how to treat other people with skill, tact, and respect. These character traits, essential in solving these types of problems, are part of being a beacon for peace and goodwill under God's grace.

Blessings,
